Since 1966 MKUD Ilinden has upheld Macedonian culture through the pursuit of excellence in Macedonian Folkloric dancing and music. Being the oldest and most respected Macedonian association in Australia, we strive to reach a new generation by blending old world traditions with current artistic flair.
MKUD Ilinden currently has 180 students ranging from the age of 5 to 23. The groups are broken down into Junior D, Junior C, Junior B, Junior A, Senior B and Senior A.
Rehearsal Dates & Times:
Thursday 6:00pm – 7:00pm: Junior D & Junior C
Thursday 7:00pm – 8:30pm: Junior B & Junior A
Friday 6:00pm – 7:30pm: Senior B
Friday: 7:30pm – 9:30pm: Senior A
Annual Performances at Canberra Multicultural Festival, and the Royal Easter Show.
Achievements:
McDonalds Performing Arts Challenge: 1st Place in 2002, 2004, 2006; 2nd Place 2011
International Theatrical Championships: 1st Place 2009
Macedonia Trip 2005 and 2008
